Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: The cash-starved union the territory of Jammu and Kashmir is incurring losses worth thousands of crore coupled with erratic power supplies as the most important power scheme Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) has missed several deadlines and is at the verge of dying a silent death. The R-APDRP that was aimed at curtailing the T&D losses in J&K due to which the erstwhile state is incurring losses of hundreds of crore of rupees, this centrally sponsored scheme have emerged as one more flop show by the Power Department. PDD insiders divulge that there hasn’t been much forward movement witnessed vis-a-vis covering the twin capitals under this scheme. “The fact is that only a handful of areas have been covered under the scheme, including those where VIPs like legislators and bureaucrats reside. In other areas, the scheme has seen the light of day,” said a PDD official. Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: Nearly 40 percent posts of professors are vacant in department of medicine at Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
