Early Times Report Jammu, July 26: To ensure transparency and fairness in the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) examination, the government on Tuesday appointed 28 observers across the Union Territory. The Combined Competitive (Preliminary) examinations will be held at various centres across Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) 28 Observers have been appointed for the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 which is being conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission on 31.07.2022 (Sunday) on various centres in Jammu and Kashmir divisions respectively. The center-specific deployment of the above officers shall be made by the J&K Public Service Commission. A preliminary examination of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, popularly known as KAS, will be conducted in two sessions on July 31. Defence Ministry approves arms procurement proposals worth Rs 28,732 cr

Agencies NEW DELHI, July 26: The Defence Ministry on July 26 approved the procurement of military equipment and weapons worth Rs 28,000 crore, which included swarm drones, carbines and bulletproof jackets. The procurement proposals were cleared by the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. “The Acceptance of Necessity [AoN] for capital acquisition proposals of the armed forces amounting to ₹28,732 crore were accorded by the DAC,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement. Early Times Report Srinagar, July 26: Fresh batches of more than 5,500 pilgrims proceeded through the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal to Amarnath on Tuesday to pay obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine, officials said. Early Times Report Srinagar, July 26: The Amarnath pilgrimage was temporarily suspended on Tuesday for a brief time following heavy rains near the cave shrine that triggered flash floods, officials said. The pilgrimage later resumed. The weather has improved and pilgrims have started paying obeisance again at the shrine,” an official said.
