122 kanals of state land 'encroached' at Kandi Gultha

Poonch, Apr 14: A few people are alleged to have encroached upon over 122 kanals of state land at Kandi Gultha but the district administration has failed to take it back from them.
The land (kahchari in nature) measuring 122 kanals 3 marlas under khasra Nos 1768, 1696, 1697 and 1698 had been encroached by a few people of Kandi Gultha, which falls under the jurisdiction of Gursai Police Station. Some structures were also alleged to have been raised upon this land.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mendhar, Thakur Sher Singh has shot five letters to SHO of Gursai police station till now vide letter No SDM/M116-45-49 of April 12, 2015, but he had failed to take any action, official sources said.
Local BJP leader Zulfkar Pathan held revenue department officials responsible for encroachment of the government land.
Locals have appealed to District Development Commissioner, Poonch, M H Malik to take cognizance of the matter and direct the concerned revenue officers to the cancel the girdawari of the land and get it vacated with an immediate effect.
