Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 14: United Jihad Council, a group of militant organizations today disowned statement of General Secretary who had advised Kashmiri students to concentrate on education.
UJC spokesman, Dr Abdul Haq in a statement issued to media termed General Secretary's 'concentrate on your education' as his individual opinion. "It is individual opinion of Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman," reads the statement, issued by UJC.
The spokesman made it clear that gun was the only option for getting Jammu & Kashmir free from India. "Indian and Pakistan held 150 rounds of talks so far but couldn't resolve the issue therefore gun is the only option," reads statement.
Important to recall, General Secretary United Jihad Council Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman who also heads the rebel outfit Tehreek-ul-Mujhadeen had on Saturday appealed students from Kashmir to stay away from 'armed struggle' and concentrate on their studies.
He said: "Youth are our valuable asset and if they don't concentrate on their studies then those pro-India elements will find it easy to stretch the period of our thralldom.
I request rebel commanders as well to desist from giving training to budding students," he said in a statement to local news agency
Rehman said that the pace India has adopted to kill youth of Kashmir has back fired as more and more educated and qualified youth are joining rebel ranks.
"I request students to concentrate on their technical and professional studies as they are the ones who have to run this ongoing freedom struggle movement," he said. However, Jameel's statement has irritated top militant leadership in Pakistan, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as these militants want Kashmiri youth to pick up guns not books and pens.
