Gram Sudhar Committee demands development, heritage places preservation

Udhampur, Dec 10: Gram Sudhar Committee (GSC) delegates held meeting in legendary Hari Har Mandir premises at Chanunta, Block Chanunta and urged upon the Governor, Satya Pal Malik to order development and preservation of legendary places in Block Chanunta, Tehsil Ramnagar in Udhampur District.
Jagdev Singh, President of Gram Sudhar Committee, Block Chanunta held open interaction with the representative of 9 wards of the Panchayat Chanunta and resolved to stand united irrespective of Caste, Community area for the all round development of the all wards of the Panchayat & Block for the welfare of the society and fight out corruption & nepotism.
The Committee observed that Govt. is un-necessarily delaying to open the Block Development Office (BDO) with other departments office at Chanunta by declaring Chanunta at full fledged Block, due to political interference which is not in the interest of the public and public is suffering a lot due to non functional of BDO Office at Chanunta. Committee strongly demanded to open the Block Office at Chanunta with all other facilities under Block status so that the public has not to run for minor issues to Tehsil and District Hqrs. Udhampur.
Further it was resolved in the meeting that the renovation of (i) Wazir Ram Dass Daudi which is in a bad condition. (ii) Construction of protection and compound wall be around the Har Har Temple premises for the safety & security of the devotees.
(iii) Every Mohalla lane and street should be linked with main road. (iv) Villages elders demanded/urged upon the Govt. to construct a big Community Hall in every Ward where social, religious and marriages and others are perform in it by the inhabitants of the area. (v) Committee demanded Health Centres in the Block should be made a regular functional for night & day so that the patients get proper and economical treatment in Health Centres. The Doctors, Para-Medical Staff who are posted hardly attend to their duty and in the Health Centre, beside the Centre should be provided all the necessary machineries, like testing Ex- Ray, Ultrasound etc.
The meeting was presided over by village octogenarian and Ex - Serviceman Sadhu Singh. He blessed the villagers and the Gram Sudhar Committee and urged them to maintain mutual brotherhood and communal harmony in all situation.
Others who attended the meeting were Kaku Ram, Bashir Ahmed Gujar, Prem Singh, Gian Chand, Prem Dass, Thakur Dass, Shanker Singh, Jagdev Singh, Prakash Singh Jawant Singh, Guddi Ram, Sham Prashad, Shavil Singh, Zurabar Singh, Romesh Singh, Joginder Singh, Abdul Gani besides others.
