Manhandled PG student demands security
GMC authorities lodge complaint

Jammu, Sept. 23 : A student pursuing post graduation in GMC, Jammu has demanded security after he was manhandled in emergency. The GMC has lodged a complaint with police station Bakshi Nagar.
A senior officer of police when contacted said that a case of assault has been registered in Bakshi Nagar police station. He said that investigation in this connection has been taken up and assaulters would be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, some doctors of GMC hospital approached the Early Times office and said that Dr Naseeb Chand Dengra had not operated the patient and neither was he present on the spot when incident took place as published in ET in its earlier edition They also gave a copy of the complaint lodged by the aggrieved PG student to the GMC administration.
As per complaint No Surg-2012-540 dated 21.9.2012, the aggrieved PG student has stated that she was manhandled by the attendants of a patient namely Mohammad Iqbal son of Abdul Rashid of Sunjwan, Jammu.
In her complaint she said that the incident took place when the patient who underwent open appendicectory complained of severe pain and his condition started deteriorating .He was shifted to room 4 of Emergency.
She further said that despite of all cooperation, the attendants of the patient started misbehaving with doctors present there. They also broke window panes. "They used filthy language and even manhandled me. I want the hospital administration to take strict action against the people involved", she said.

.Proper security should be provided to all doctors on duty without compromise of any kind", the aggrieved doctor said.


Earlier, also Dr Naseeb Chand Dengra, HoD surgical unit , when contacted , admitted manhandling was done, he said as soon as he received phone call from her PG student, he asked CMO to personally look into the matter. He further said that Dr Riyaz was also deputed to look into the matter. The complaint was also filed with Medical Superintendent GMC to take necessary action against the incident.
