DC directs police to register FIR against union leader

Kishtwar, July 10: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan today directed Additional Superintendent of Police and Station House Police Officer to register an FIR against self style union leader Joginder Bhandri for threatening Assistant Commissioner Labour Zakir Hussain Wani, beside indulging in blackmailing to seek undue favour from the chair. As per the details available with "Early Times" Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani vide letter No. ALC/K/Adm/14/1686-90 dated 10-07-2014 intimated Deputy Commissioner that self styled union leader Joginder Bhandari son of Roshan Lal resident of Kishtwar has threaten/defaming and blackmailing him and prayed upon the Deputy Commissioner to direct the police to register an FIR against the accuse. The complainant in his complaint said that the accuse is harassing and blackmailing him on number of occasion and demanded undue favour from him. He said that on denying the same, the accuse turn hostile and even trespassed in his office and threatened him. He in his complaint further said that the accused also uploaded some defamatory statements against him on social networking site facebook and tries to injure his reputation. He said that the accuse also filed base less complaints against him on behalf of organizations namely Senior Citizen Forum Kishtwar and Chinar Power Project Workers Union by impersonating as no such organization was registered under law in the District. He also allege that the accuse is demanding money from him. Acting on the complaint of Assistant Commissioner Labour , the DC directed the police to take action against the accuse under law beside also directed to registered an FIR against the culprit involved in harassing, threatening & blackmailing of the government officer. Following the directions of the DC , Additional SP directed SHO Police Station vide letter No. ASP/Clt./14/1645-46 to take necessary against the accused as warranted under law and submit a detail factual report to him.
When contacted SHO, Sameer Jeelani said that police is verifying the contents submitted by the complainant and added that after assessing the same, necessary action will be initiated against the accused.
