Daily wagers protest, submit memorandum to Div Com Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 10 A protest demonstration was held by the Govt./PSU employees including daily wagers in front of office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu in order to pressurize the Govt regarding redressal of demands and casual approach towards the employees of the State. They submitted a memorandum of demands to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Hundreds of employees/workers assembled at the venue and raised slogans against the government and in favour of the demands. The protestors led by senior trade union leaders namely Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Subhash Verma Babu Hussain Malik, ,Yash Pal Sharma, K C Dubey and others condemned the criminal silence maintained by the Government over the burning demands. "The Government instead of addressing the issues of the employees is busy in sabotaging the employees struggle by calling and talking to some selected persons of their choice, employees leaders said further warning the Government of dire consequences for adopting such a dubious approach. Speakers however cautioned the employees about some self styled leaders who are systematically jeopardizing the interests of the employees. Similar protests were held at Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Udhampur, Samba, Kathua, Ramban, Doda and , Kishtwar and memorandums were submitted to respective Deputy Commissioners by the SGEJAC District. Units. Later on a detailed memorandum was submitted to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu in his office. The memorandum highlighted the demands including Regularization of daily wagers, adhoc , contractual and consolidated workers,-framing of clear policy for the incumbents engaged after 1994, removal of pay anomalies of clerical and others cadres, Payment of balance 6th pay commission arrears in cash, Release of 10% DA, Implementation of Defined Pension scheme, all benefits of 6th pay commission and payment of full DA to PSU employees, Mediclaim policy in favour of non gazette employees of Govt./PSU/autonomous bodies, Dislocation allowance to the employees posted in rural and far-flung areas and etc. |
