One held alongwith 60 pouches of illicit liquor 7/22/2014 11:08:07 PM Udhampur, July 22: Udhampur Police today arrested one bootlegger and seized 60 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession during routine checking today in the area under jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur. According to police sources, "Based on reliable information, a team led by Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SHO Police Station Udhampur assisted by ASI Madan Lal Sharma carried out surprise checking at about 1130 hours and intercepted one suspicious person and during searches of his belongings police recovered the illicit liquor." "The accused was arrested on spot and has been identified namely as Sham Lal s/o Girdhari Lal of Muttal and recovered 60 pouches of J&K Excise (Desi Whisky 250/250 ML) from his possession, police sources said. Police sources said, the accused was transporting these pouches in a bag for illegal sale in his native village Muttal. "In this connection, a Case FIR No. 277/2014 U/S 48A Ex.
