Youth kidnapped for Rs 2 lakh ransom, abductors arrested | | | Jammu, July 21: In a major achievement, the police acting swiftly not only recovered the abducted youth from the clutches of his abductor but also arrested the three abductors in Ghagwal of Samba district. According to police sources a youth was allegedly kidnapped from Hiranagar area, for ransom of Rs 2 lakh, however, acting swiftly, police arrested the three kidnappers and rescued the victim from their clutches here today. The accused have been identified namely as Jagrup Singh and Gourav Sigh, both residents of the Gaghwal and Pushpinder Singh of Hiranagar, sources said. They said, "One Janak Raj of ward No 3, Hiranagar, was kidnapped by above mentioned trio hailing from the same locality. "Soon after receiving information, a team from Hiranagar police led by SHO Anuroop Sharma gave hot chase to the vehicle in which kidnappers were on way to Samba to their possible hideout, sources said. They added, "Meanwhile the messages of the kidnapping were also flashed and accordingly, SHO Gagwal Anu Sharma laid a naka and arrested the abductors." Police sources said, "During questioning, the accused disclosed that they intend to have ransom of Rs 2 lakh after his abduction as he had old rivalry with them over property dispute. Sources said, "Meanwhile a case u/s 365/84 RPC has been registered against the accused while further questioning was in progress till last report came in." |
