NPSU asks RCA to show utilization of collected funds | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 22 : Lambasting on the functioning of the Red Cross Association (RCA), National Panther Students Union (NPSU) expressed deep resentment over the transparency and accountability of the Red Cross Association (RCA). NPSU State President Thakur Virender Singh while interacting with the media lambasted that every year during admission in colleges and universities Rs. 10/- funds which are collected in the name of Red Cross Association and asked the RCA to provide an information about its utilization. He said that RCA is only bounded to city no rural or far-flung areas is getting benefit of RCA. Rural areas students who are needy are not getting benefit of RCA funds that are only utilized on papers. He further said that the ambulances of RCA have become showcase in Red Cross office and alleged that most of them are being used by its officials for their personal use. He urged Governor NN Vohra to intervene in the matter and demanded to re-appoint a capable person who work at grass root level and provide benefit to the needy students at grass root level. As the matter of the fact District Secretary of RCA have completed his tenure a new official should be appointed. He also demanded that RCA should show its white paper about the funds which have been utilized by them. |
