| Militant hideout busted in Kishtwar | | | Jammu, Sept 2 : Arms and ammunition were today recovered from a militant hideout which was busted by Rashtriya Rifles and police in upper reaches of Navpachchi in Kishtwar.
Based on a specific information about a hideout, RR Bn at Bhandarkut and Kishtwar police launched a joint search operation in general area Navpachchi and recovered a cache of war like stores. The recovery included one Sniper Rifle, bolt action with magazine, one telescopic sight, 17 rounds of assorted ammunition, two Chinese grenades and two Radio Sets.
The cache was sited away from population centre and was likely to have been made some time back. The recovery of arms was possible only due to sharing of intelligence and launching of well coordinated and synergized joint operation despite cache being located in harsh terrain. The recovered arms, ammunition and Radio Sets were handed over to the police station Navpachchi where an FIR was lodged in this connection. The recovery is yet another major success for security forces and has definitely dealt a blow to the militant groups, police said. |
