Jammu, Nov 9: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a protest demonstration against recruiting agency Public Service Commission (PSC) and state government for its failure to fill the vacant posts of college lecturers across the state. More than two dozen protesters assembled on the campus of Jammu University and shouted slogans against recruiting agencies (PSC) and coalition government. Addressing the gathering here today, NSF president, Sukhdev Singh said that it was very astounding to notice that total adhocism prevailed in Higher Education Department, which was curial mockery for the youth of state, as government has failed to fill up over 1600 vacant posts of Assistant Professors in degree colleges across the state. "Higher Education Department had last year written the State Public Service Commission (PSC) for filling up of the vacant posts of the Assistant Professors in the department and accordingly a notification was issued by the PSC in this regard. However, the department had debarred the M Phil candidates from applying for the posts of lecturers which was against the Government SRO under which a candidate with M Phil Degree is eligible to apply for the Post of Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department", said Singh. NSF president Sukhdev Singh demanded from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediate creates the infrastructure of said colleges and fill the vacant post of college lecturer and the youths of state receive proper education in said colleges. |
