First level checking of EVMs conducted | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Nov. 9: First Level Checking (FLC) of the Electronic Voting Machines was carried out today in Ramban where representatives of various political parties were present. District Election Officer Ramban, Farooq Shah Bukhari, inspected the First Level Checking of EVMs being conducting by the Engineers of BEL at Strong room of Election cell established in Deputy Commissioner Officer Complex Ramban. The checking was conducted by a team of BEL engineers amidst tight security. District Election Officer (DEO) informed that as many as 327 EVMs have arrived and representatives from all political parties actively took part at a mock poll to check for any flaws in the machines." According to him, the first level checking is a process in which all EVMs are thoroughly checked and the whole work is carried out under video surveillance. Ramban has sought around 327 EVMs for the polling in more than 218 polling stations of Ramban and Banihal Constituencies. At the FLC, all political parties are informed in case they want their representatives present at the time of checking of EVMs. During the mock poll conducted here on Sunday, representatives from all major political parties actively participated. |
