General Observers review election preparedness in Doda | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Nov 9: To review the ongoing preparations of the District Administration Doda for the smooth, free and fair conduct of the General Election to Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held in the District on 25th of November 2014, General Observers 54-Bhaderwah Assembly Constituency Bhupinder Singh Bhalla and General Observer 53-Doda Dev Raj Dev today visited District Headquarters Doda and convened a high level meeting of Officers. General Observers for 54-Bhaderwah and 53-Doda while reviewing the preparedness for the upcoming Elections, emphasized on the free, fair and peaceful conduct of elections as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. Bhalla directed all the officials to look on his or her duty assigned and perform it diligently in an unbiased manner. He expressed concern over the conditions of some of the Polling Stations and instructed DEO Doda and RO concerned to take up the matter with Education and other partner Departments to ensure that basic minimum facilities are available at each and every Polling Station. Regarding the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in the District, Bhalla highlighted the need to cover Higher Educational Institutions especially University Campus, Polytechnic Colleges and ITIs in the District which mostly have young and first time voters to target. He also reviewed the progress of EPIC coverage, PER coverage and EP ratio in the District. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Nodal Officer Law and Order) Doda Imam Din, Returning Officer 53-Doda (ACR) Doda S.C Dogra, Returning Officer 54-Bhaderwah (SDM) Bhaderwah Bhupinder Kumar, PO ICDS ( Nodal Officer SVEEP) Doda Surat Singh, besides all the Nodal Officers, Zonal and Sector Magistrates were also attended the meeting.
BJYM honors Tarun Sharma Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 9: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) of ward number 29, Shakti Nagar, Jammu, honored Tarun Sharma in recognition of his contribution in various fields at the young age. According to press release, Akash Gupta, ward President BJYM and Rahul Gupta General Secretary awarded Tarun Sharma by presenting him a memento. Tarun Sharma, son of Dinesh Sharma, has earned name as an actor, model, writer, director and an ace KarateKa. Besides being associated with various cultural groups, Tarun Sharma is a founder and president of Nat Manch. Tarun won a title of Jammu in 2009 .He has also worked in Punjabi music videos, "Sajna Main Vaari Jaan" and "Tu Aaja Soniya', which are running successfully on PTC Punjabi and PTC Chak De. Tarun Sharma is a 2nd Dan black belt in Karate and has also bagged Gold Medal for India in International Karate Championship 2013. The programme was held at Shakti Nagar, Jammu. JAMMU, Nov 9: The Indian Army Battalion under Crossed Swords Division distributed furniture containing 48 joint study tables and chairs to Govt Higher Secondary School, Kharah on Saturday. According to press release, the joy and enthusiasm was evident on the faces of the students on receiving the furniture as they too could enjoy studying on the desks provided to them. Speaking on the occasion RD Verma, Principal of the school appreciated the gesture of the Indian Army of understanding the need of students in the remote village Kharah, which will go a long way in equipping the young children to perform well in life. Apart from the Headmaster, the event was attended by Desh Raj Sharma, Sarpanch, and Balwan Singh, Zonal Education Planning Officer. |
