Dy CM raises the issue of J&K students studying across the country

JAMMU, Apr 26: Expressing his great concern to resolve the issue of J & K Students for providing better environment and facilities outside the state, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh raised this issue in 27th meeting of Northern Zonal Council, chaired by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
The States of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, NCT of Delhi and Union Territory of Chandigarh, participated in NZC.
Dr. Singh mentioned that youths of Jammu and Kashmir faces some difficulties when they go outside the state especially under Himayat, which is a training-cum-placement programme. He stressed for solving this matter at the earliest so that youth will feel comfortable outside their hometown and good message will be reflected in the state.
It was attended by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virbhadra singh, Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal, Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Nirmal Kumar Singh, Lieutent Governor Delhi, Najib Jung and other Ministers and Chief Secretaries of the member States and the Advisor to the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh is the current Vice-Chairman of the Council.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Zonal Councils meet is essential for the strengthening of the Centre-State relations. Several social, economic and development issues were discussed during the meeting which have currently assumed importance in the context of inter-state and centre-state relations.
Dr. Singh also raised the issue of providing employment as near as possible to the affected people of Basoli Town whose valuable land submerged in Ranjeet Sagar Dam project as the Punjab Govt. Provided the employment to these people far off places from their home town which causes great inconvenience to these persons.
Regarding the issue of providing jobs to the affected People of Basohli Town to the nearest Places Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal, assured Dr. Singh that necessary steps will be taken in this regard to shift the people from far flung areas and provided them employment opportunities nearer to the Basohli Town as early as possible.
