ET Report reasi, Apr 28: District Election Officer, Reasi Sushma Chauhan informed that the task of registering the complete particulars of voters including Aadhar card details has been progressing at full swing across the district. According to press release, the Election Commission has launched this drive under the mission mode project for authenticating, purifying and linking Aadhaar with the electoral roll. The objective of the drive is to weed out electoral roll duplicates and to make the electoral roll error free informed Chauhan. The NERPAP, launched recently, throughout the country is being implemented in a very successful manner in the district, said Chauhan, adding that 27090 electors furnished their Aadhaar details, 18623 electors their contact information, 372 electors submitted their ID numbers, 2005 electors submitted Form 6, 1808 electors submitted Form 7 and 1714 electors submitted Form 8, adding that feeding of data is simultaneously being done in a very systematic manner. To make NERPAP successful, special camps once a month on a Sunday, door-to-door campaign and various other types of publicity would be conducted to make the people aware and to participate in the programme," Chauhan inform. She also added that around 61% per cent eligible citizens have been issued Aadhaar cards in the district. When 61% per cent people have been already given Aadhaar cards here, this drive of rectifying electoral rolls will move faster," and the process of registration and capturing of biometrics of the left out population is geared up on war footing so that hundred percent target is achieved, said Chauhan. |
