Youth urges Dy CM to resume work on Rattle HE Project | | | Early Times Report kishtwar, Apr 28: The unemployed youths of district Kishtwar urged upon the deputy chief minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh to immediately resume work on the Rattle hydroelectric project Drabdhalla, so that the unemployed youths could get opportunity of employment in the project. A meetin was organised under the banner of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) and discussed employment related problem. While, chairman of CPPWU Joginder Bhandari said that the work of rattle hydroelectric project has been allotted to a Hyderabad based company M/s GVK power development who had later handed over the execution of the project to M/s L&T company and the said company started the work upon the said project and in the month of July 2014 the management of GVK suspended its work over the said project consequently 493 workers were retrenched by M/s L&T company. He urged upon the deputy chief minister to intervene into the matter and ask the management of GVK to immediately resume the work on rattle hydroelectric project Drsbshalla with the direction to first re-engage the retrenched workers in the said projects and provide first priority of employment to local unemployed youths of the district. He said that there are a number of skilled youths available in Kishtwar district having sufficient experience in handling various kinds of machineries being used in hydroelectric projects. Among others who were present on the occasion included Mohammad Khalil Tapal, Farooq Dugga, Irshad Ahmed, Sajjad Sheikh, Sunil Sharma, Akhter Sheikh, Ghulam Hussain Gannie, Bashir Khan, Mohammad Ashraf Gannie,Jaffar Butt, Shoket Ahanger, Anil Sharma, Sameer Butt and others. |
