Sunil stresses on efficiency, quality in works

KISHTWAR, Apr 28 : Chairing separate detailed meetings of R&B and PDD departments in Distt Kishtwar, Minister of state for Revenue and R&B Sunil Sharma asked the engineers and officers to maintain utmost efficiency and high quality in all the works. The meeting regarding R&B sector which stretched late in evening on Monday, was also attended by MLC Firdous Tak besides DDC, ADDC, ACR,CEO, X Ens of Div Kishtwar, Chatroo and special div Marwah, AEEs, other engineers other officers of R&B, PMGSY, mechanical engineering and JKPCC.
Deliberating upon various issues, the minister enquired about the progress on various projects. He sought detailed explanations from officers regarding issues being faced by them and the action plan that is being adopted to meet these challenges.
The minister expressed his concern over the huge damages to Batote Kishtwar Road and said that till the road is handed over to National Highway Development Corporation, the R&B is maintaining the road and in spite of all odds the road has remained mostly opened.The minister also reviewed the progress of various bridges and asked the officers to remove the bottlenecks. He asked concerned authorities to make projects for rope ways at remote and mountainous villages as the centre has promised liberal funding in constructing rope ways.
The condition of Synthan road, Padder road, Marwah road and other roads was discussed in detail. The minister also took stock of PMGSY roads and assured that new unconnected habitations will be included in the new plan.
In the second important meeting today, comprehensive review of PDD department was taken by MoS Sunil Sharma and MLC Firdous Tak.The X En PDD gave detailed presentation regarding the demand and supply of electricity in the district. He informed that out of total requirement of 50 MW, only 32mw is available. The minister said that the government is going for argumentation of existing infrastructure and the department should work in an efficient manner with highest integrity. He asked the department to increase the pace of work in extending the electricity supply to hitherto un-electrified villages. The repair and maintenance of transformers was discussed in detail. The forest clearance at various locations was also taken up in the meeting. The minister assured that he will take the matter with forest ministry. The minister directed the department to work on a comprehensive action plan to ensure consistent and reliable electric supply in the district. The progress on ongoing power projects was also sought from CVPP.
