Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 28: Re-iterating the resolve of the JKNPP to continue its crusade for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, Harsh Dev Singh NPP Chairman urged upon the party workers to be prepared for a decisive battle for establishment of AIIMS in Jammu as per the original announcements made in New Delhi by Union government.
According to press release, flaying the cowardly surrender of BJP on the issue of AIIMS, he lambasted the statement made by Dr. Nirmal Singh the Deputy Chief Minister categorically claiming that AIIMS is meant for Kashmir and that nobody can snatch it from them. He said that it was highly distressing to note that it did not take the Deputy Chief, who is heading the committee for implementation of 'Agenda of Alliance', even a split second to make the highly ingratiating statement on AIIMS on being questioned by media.
He said that ignoring the announcements made during Union Budget session by two Union Ministers as well as Dr. Jitender Singh in Kathua, the BJP Dy. Chief Minister emphatically denied the establishment of sanctioned AIIMS for Jammu thereby displaying his servile posturing in the face of a mighty coalition partner. Castigating the saffron party for the abandonment of its fundamentals, he said that BJP has made itself a laughing stock in Jammu with its leaders not only making dichotomous statements on various issues but also taking one somersault after the other in respect of Jammu based issues.
He further said that not a single Legislator or Minister of BJP raised his objection despite the said address categorically mentioning the transfer of AIIMS to Kashmir. He said the BJP which had been donning the mantle of 'messiah' for Jammu for years had indulged in the most treacherous bargain for lust of power thus giving the most severe shocker to the people of Jammu.
While Balwant Singh Mankotia said that by robbing Jammu of the most prestigious AIIMS, project the coalition government had done the highest injustice to Jammu region which was not expected in a BJP partnered government. He said that BJP which has been giving tall slogans of ending all discrimination against Jammu region had belied all hopes and aspirations of the people of Jammu by relenting on the issue AIIMS as well as New Recruitment Policy.
He said that the recent Jammu bandh should be an eye opener for the BJP which had been considering itself as indispensable for the people of Jammu.
