Police-Public meet held

Kishtwar, Apr 28: DIG Doda-Kishtwar Ramban range Nisar Ahmed along with SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas today held a police public meeting at Bhaderwah with the eminent citizens of the area at Dak Banglow Bhaderwah. The aim of the meetings was to cement the relations between Police and public. The meeting was attended by 150-200 people of all communities, Political and Social groups, Sarpanchs /Panchs of adjoining villages. During the course of meeting, the participants put forth their demands viz. Parking and regulation of traffic in Bhaderwah town, widening of roads, deficiency of doctors in SDH Bhaderwah, shortage of ration and insufficient supply of water and electricity etc. The participants also requested for Special Police recruitment drive at Bhaderwah and fencing of play ground of Degree College, construction of toilet block at Seri Bazar, establishment of Gym under Civic Action Programme.
The participants applauded the role of District Police to eradicate the menace of drugs, added that there was need to do more to eradicate this menace. Participants were assured that their demands will be taken up with concerned Departments for redressal and those pertaining to the Police Department will be taken up on priority. DIG Nisar Ahmed in his address urged upon the participants to co-operate and strengthen the hands of Police, so that the social crime, smuggling of Drugs, bovine smuggling, illicit liquor, forest produce etc could be checked. He appealed to maintain peace and communal harmony in the area. Prominent among who attended the meeting include Khairat Hussain Farash, President Anjuman-e-Islamia, Ranbir Singh Manhas, Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, Dhananter Singh, Shoket Malik, Amit Bhasin Addl. SP Bhaderwah, Bashir-ul-Hassan, Incharge SDM Bhaderwah, Bandeshwar Singh Manhas, SHO PS Bhaderwah and Fayaz Mehta, AEE BDA Bhaderwah.
