| G D Goenka Public School organises Musical Fiesta | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 28 : G D Goenka Public School Jammu (Governed by Om Parkash Bansal Charitable trust-Regd.) organised Inter School Group song competition at the Goenkan Acres. The Programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Mr. A L Vijay Rao, Deputy Commissioner K V Sangathan, J & K Region. Twelve Schools participated in the competition; they were APS Domana, DPS Jammu, Jammu Sanskriti, Jodhamal Public School, K C Public School, Nagbani School, Presentation Convent, Stephens International, APS Akhnoor, K.C. Gurukul, Banyan International and St. Xavier School. G.D Goenka School presented their talent in the competition but did not compete being the host school, which was much appreciated by the chief guest and also the participating schools. The theme of the songs was based on 'Festivals of India Viz Baisakhi, Holi, Diwali Janamastami, Shivratri so on and so forth. Both Junior and senior groups comprised of 6 students each. The Parameters of judgement were sur, Tal and Presentation. Only 2 musical instruments were allowed. The Chief Guest in his address thanked the Principal of G.D. Goenka Public School Dr. R.P Singh and his team of teachers for organizing a wonderful opportunity for the Jammuites to show case their musical skill. He further added that culture was also taken care off by this musical activity. He expressed his gratitude to all the principals, parents in providing the children a chance of competing. He said that such competitions should be encouraged as music is the easiest way to communicate and interact with the Almighty.
The judgement was done by renowned personalities Mr. Bishan Dass Ji from cultured academic Mr. Harish Keila from radio station Jammu.
In the senior group Nagbani School was adjudged first, K C Gurukul School was declared second and third position was bagged by Presentation Convent School. In the Junior Group K C Gurukul School was adjudged first, second position bagged by DPS Jammu and Presentation Convent School claimed the third position.
The Principal of the school Dr. R P Singh enlightened the gathering by expressing his gratitude from the core of his heart. He appreciated the promotion of the budding artists. He congratulated the winners and expressed his heart felt gratitude to the participants, principals and their Management for their enthusiastic participation. |
