Srinagar, Aug 2: The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday lashed out at the National Conference for demanding the mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru who was hanged in Delhi's Tihar jail on February 9, 2013. Talking to reporters on the side lines of a function in Pulwama district, PDP youth leader and Political Analyst in CM's office, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, said: "Former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah decided the time and place of hanging of Guruand now they are playing politics for their political survival." Parra said when the people demanded the mortal remains after Guru 's hanging, the NC led coalition government placed the state under curfew and used force against those demanding he remains. 'The demand for remains from NC now makes no sense and is politically motivated," he said. Parra said the Government of India took Omar Abdullah on board on Guru's execution. "He gave consent in the same fashion as his father gave consent for Maqbool Bhat's execution," he said. |
