| Amid PDP, NC fight, proposed Nursing College for Kishtwar hits road blockade | | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Jan 4: In a face-off between National Conference and ruling People's Democratic Party , the establishment of proposed Nursing College at Kishtwar under state Waqaf act through Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (BGSB) University hits a road blockade after opposition National Conference today objected its establishment within the Premises of Islamia Fareedia College of Education and seek clearance from the BGSB University authorities on the issue of sharing of income generated from the said proposed Nursing College. After the fresh face-off between the PDP and NC, administrator Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar Showkat Sheikh submitted his resignation to the government citing personal reasons, however sources indicate that fresh controversy between NC and PDP lead to his resignation.
As per the details available with "Early Times", senior National Conference leader and party's former Youth President Imtiyaz Zarger today raised objection over the establishment of proposed Nursing college within the girls hostel of B.Ed college Kishtwar as NC had reservation that the move could lead to cancellation of B.Ed college affiliation by the Jammu University authorities as the complex falls within the formalities and guidelines set by the Jammu University for granting sanction for continuation of B.Ed classes.
While talking to "Early Times", Imtiyaz Zarger said that party has reservation over the issue of establishment of Nursing College within the premises of Islamia School Kishtwar and said that BGSB University authorities should clear to the people of Kishtwar regarding the sharing of income share generated from the said college.
"As we came to know that BGSB authorities will pay only rent of the multiple story girls hostel building while the majority of the income share will go to BGSB university and under such circumstances we cannot loss B.Ed college affiliation as the income generated from B.Ed college is used for running Islamia Fareedia Higher Secondary and Girls school in which more than 1200 students including poor's are getting education at nominal monthly fee" Said Zarger. He said that PDP forced Administrator Auqaf Islamia to resign after he refuse to toe their line the charge denied by the PDP. While talking to "Early Times" District President PDP Sheikh Nasir Hussain blames the National Conference leadership including MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo for creating the hurdle in establishment of Nursing College at Kishtwar through BGSB University, added that NC political vendetta is amid to create unnecessary delay in establishment of the Nursing College at Kishtwar as the party feared that PDP and its MLC from Kishtwar Firdous Tak will take the credit for the same. "Establishment of Nursing College at Kishtwar is the dream project of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Auqaf Abdul Rehman Veeri-our party will not allow it to derail" said Sheikh Nasir. He said that PDP is committed for establishment of Nursing College at Kishtwar. "We are not going to budge under NC pressure-Nursing college will be established either within the premises of Islamia school or in a private building-party leadership is committed for its establishment" said Sheikh Nasir. He also denied allegations of NC that PDP put pressure on Administrator Auqaf Islamia to resign added that it was NC pressure which forces Administrator Auqaf Kishtwar to resign. He said and cleared that income generated from the Nursing college will go to Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar The fresh spat between the PDP and the NC took an ugly term when BGSB University Rajouri deputed a team headed by Principal of its Engineering College Dr Asghar to Kishtwar to finalizing the building for the proposed college, however contrary to previous stand the administrator auqaf Kishtwar objected to the proposal asking the team to identify some other building for the purpose followed by the threat of agitation from NC leaders who categorically confronted the University team claiming that people of the area will never permit any alteration in the hostel building. Later amid high drama, Administrator Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar submitted his resignation to the government and left premises without intimating to anyone. |
