Challenger & Vishal registers wins in Police Friendship Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Feb13 : Challenger Cricket Club and Vishal Cricket Club registered win against their opponent teams and entered in the next round in the ongoing "Police Friendship Cricket Tournament for rural Youths" at Country Cricket Stadium Ghrota which is being organized by District Police Jammu under the supervision of Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu and the slogan of the tournament is "Khelo Khel Bhulo Nasha ". whereas the organizing committee of the championship includes Rajesh Gill Chief prosecuting Officer, Raj Paul Singh Dy.SP Headquarters Jammu, Munish Anand SDPO Akhnoor, Dy.SP DAR Jammu, Gurmeet Singh SHO Ghrota, Vivek Sharma, Sham Singh, Om Raj, Ajay Sharma and Taginder Singh .
The objective of the championship is to provide platform to the rural youths so that they can show case their hidden talent and to involve the young generation in sports activities so that they may not derail from the main stream.
Earlier in the first matches Challenger Cricket Club defeated Sunail Cricket Club by 1 wicket. Batting first Sunail Cricket club scored 98 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 16 overs with Sahil 18 runs, Amit 16 runs and Dheeraj 14 runs. From bowling side Vinod took 3 wickets while Koushal and Rajinder took 2 wickets each for the team.
In reply Challenger Cricket Club chased the target in 15.3 overs for the loss of 9 wickets thus won the match by 1 wicket. Rajesh 20, Davinder 18 and Vinod 13 were the main scorers. From bowling Side Sushil took 3 wickets, Goutam and Sushil took 2 wickets each while Dheeraj and Rinku took 1 wicket each. Vinod was declared as man of the match.
In another match Vishal Cricket Club defeated Thathi Cricket Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first Thathi Club made 112 runs for the loss of all wickets in 15.3 overs with Arman 29 runs, Vipan 26 and Arush 18 runs. From bowling side Rakesh Koul, Rajesh Gill and Ramandeep Singh took 2 wickets each, while Abhinav and Habib took 1 wicket each.
In reply Vishal Cricket Club chased the target in 13 overs for the loss of 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Salman and Rakesh with 66 and 24 runs were the main scorers for VCC. From bowling side Vikas took 2 wickets while Arush and sahil took 1 wicket each. Salman was adjudged as man of the match.
