BJP under increasing pressure to get Lone sacked 2/13/2018 11:49:24 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: The BJP is under increasing pressure to get MLA Akbar Lone sacked from the Assembly. The state unit of the party under increased pressure from the public and inhouse too seeks strong action. The sources said the issue has been debated in the BJP meeting held after the remarks were made by the MLA and after this the BJP MLAs raked up the issue in the Assembly demanding FIR against the MLA. "The statement of BJP MLC Ashok Khajuria expressing shame and concern about raising such slogans in the Assembly and stating that it was cherharan of Drapudi has set the public mood against us. The opposition is also quick to jump and if his membership is not cancelled, it could become a major political issue and be used against us. So the high command has to take a decisive action in this regard," said the senior BJP leader. The sources said the issue has been discussed with the party high command and there were talks about it also but the PDP expressed strong reservations in getting the membership of the MLA cancelled and the NC top leadership also got in touch with central BJP high command and the decision was shelved. "But with Khajuria publicly calling for snapping the alliance and even expressing concern how even FIRs are being lodged against army personnel at a time when BJP is in power has set the ball rolling of public perception against us. We can't take this thing lightly and some decisive action has to be taken," said the senior BJP minister. The sources said the party holds the view that since Speaker is the final authority he can take the decision on suspension suo-motto .
