Rajouri, Mar 16: Undetrrred by losses worth Rs 3 crore a day suffered by Nowshera sub- division, the strike by the residents demanding district status entered 29th day today.
People alleged state government has been adopting every tactics to divide the people on this issue but every such attempt was foiled by the Nowshera people by remaining united under the banner of Beopar Mandal headed by Subash Kapoor.
A delegation of BJP Ministers came to Nowshera to meet the people and had assured to settle the issue but without any action.
Ravinder Sahrma (BJP) MLA, Nowshera and Surinder Choudhry, MLC (PDP) have also extended their support and even Satinder Choudhry has also resigned in protest (not accepted by the Mehbooba Mufati yet)
Last week a deputation of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) lead by Subhash Kapoor also met with the Chief Minister who assured to take necessary decision within few days in consultation with BJP Minister.
"But before we could reach Nowshera back, government issued order for the appointment of rotational Additional DC (ADC) for Nowshera-Sunderbani which was rejected by the people of Nowshera" said Subhash Kapoor.
On Thursday a high power deputation of Bureaucrats lead by Financial Commissioner Revenue, Lokesh Dutt, held meeting with JAC at Nowshera and assured to submit their report to government within shortest time.
"We have informed the government delegation of Bureaucrats that our only demand is district status and nothing less will we accepted. On Saturday about 50000 people from every part of Nowshera sub division shall move to Jammu on feet to awake the government" said Kapoor.
Meanwhile , Th.Rashpal Singh former MLA (from Kalakot) and NC state secretary, today visited Nowshera and said, " Separate additional DCs for Kalakot, Sunderbani and Nowshera is the only solution to end the unrest among the people of these areas.
