| 10 years on, school buildings awaits completion | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, Mar 16: Believe it or not, the building of Higher Secondary School Chanunta (block -1 ) is awaiting its completion while work was started on this building 10 years back. This has badly affected the education of children in the area. However, the students are forced to attend classes in the old building which is far away from their homes.
A local residential of Chanunta Sham Lal an ex service man and others told to Early Times that this is badly affecting government's mission of spreading literacy in remote areas. They also said that 10 years back work was in progress but it has been stopped now for the reasons best known to the authorities concerned. "Same time work was started on a school building in Srinagar division and it has been completed but it appears that Jammu region has been discriminated again in this case , they added.
We are scared to sent girls in far away school as crime against women in on rise.
She further said that has the new building made functional after its completion same would have benefitted many locals especially girls even long play ground in new building also helpful for the students who were come in school for the education. |
