After failing to set up Sainik, KP colony, new DyCM wants to turn Kashmir into a 'bouquet'

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 1: New Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday blamed the Working President of National Conference Omar Abdullah for turning Kashmir into a place for one community only. He bragged that Bharatiya Janata Party would turn Kashmir into a bouquet where people from all communities can co-exist.
It's in place to mention here that Omar Abdullah on Monday had taken a dig at Gupta for terming Kathua incident as a "small incident." "What justice can one expect from Mehbooba Mufti when her Deputy CM calls the rape and murder of an 8-year-old a minor incident that the media shouldn't focus on," Omar tweeted.
Reacting to Omar's tweet Gupta while talking to Republic TV said, "It's due to such people that Kashmir has become a place for one community."
He claimed his party would ensure that every community can survive in Kashmir.
An analyst ridiculed Gupta's claim. "When BJP was in the opposition it used to state that when it comes into the power it would establish a Sainik colony in Kashmir and would ensure that displaced Kashmiri Pandits would be resettled n the Valley."
He said that since the day BJP has come into the power it has been dancing to the tunes of its ally Peoples Democratic Party. "The BJP succumbed to the pressure and threatenings of the separatists and shelved its plans to have a Sainik colony and a separate colony for migrant Kashmiri Pandits at place in the Valley," the analyst added.
He said that Gupta should stop hoodwinking the people of Jammu and other nationalists by issuing hollow statements only. "Since the day BJP has come into power in J&K its leaders have ensured that they keep the Kashmir centric leaders happy. They have made no effort to fulfill the pre-poll promises they had made to people of Jammu. During the past three years BJP leaders have just done lip service and have been reaping the fruits of power," he said.
A politician while reacting to Gupta's statement about turning Kashmir into a "bouquet" for the people of all communities said, "From 2015 to 2018 they (BJP leaders) have maintained silence over the crucial issues as they don't want to annoy their friends in Kashmir."
He said that Gupta wants to remain in news after getting a new role. "All of us know it very well that BJP has bartered the interests of Jammu region for the sake of power. We know it that neither they can set up a Sainik colony in Kashmir nor can they make a separate colony for displaced Kashmiri Pandits. They are just keeping people busy by indulging in mere rhetoric," the politician added.
