Haq Khan, Sajad Lone absent from Kupwara DDB meeting

KUPWARA, May 13: Two sitting MLA's from Kupwara district were absent from today's District Development Board Meeting. The District Development Board Meeting that was chaired by the minister for school education, Haj, Auqaf and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfikar Ali at Kupwara today.
The District Development Board today approved Annual Plan out lay of Rs 213.57 crores for District Kupwara for the current financial year. This includes Rs 1309.71 lacs for regular schemes Rs. 2254.29 lacs as loan, Rs. 16394.89 lacs as Central share and Rs. 1348.68 lacs as State share. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Zulfikar Ali.
The meeting reviewed the action taken report on the decisions of the last board meeting and took comprehensive stock of sectoral, physical and financial achievements registered in the District Plan 2017-18.
The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha member Mir Fayaz, MLA Kupwara, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Dar, MLA Karnah, Advocate Raja Manzoor, MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed, MLCs, Vice Chairmans of various State boards, Advisors of various boards besides district and sectoral heads.
Knowledgeable sources in the meeting said that MLA lolab Abdul Haq Khan and Social welfare minister Sajad Gani did not attend the meeting due to reasons best known to them. They said all the concerned members and representative of Kupwara district were present except the minister Lone and Khan.
Sources said that Lone has sent some other person to attend the meeting where as he was not himself present in the meeting, and subsequently Khan was also not present.
"It seems that Khan did not attend the meeting because he was dropped from the cabinet by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti," sources informed.
