Early Times Report JAMMU, May 31: A group of fifty Fish Farmers from across Jammu province attended 3-day Skill Development Training Programme on "Hatchery Management" here organized by Regional Fish Farmers Development Agency, (Ghoumanhasan) from May 28, 2018 to May 30 with assistance from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB). During the training programme, the Fish Farmers were provided hands on skill of Breeding, Seed production and Hatchery operations etc. The trainees were also acquainted with design and construction of Fish Hatchery, Brood stock management, Identification of Carp Brooders and its seeds. The training session also witnessed special lecture on site selection, Nursery Pond Management, Common disease in Fish seed and its control, Induced Breeding techniques, the Fish Farmers were also made aware about the various developmental schemes launched by the Central and State Govt. for the welfare of the Fishers. The practical session was also conducted which comprised of water quality management, Calculation of dose and method of fertilizer application, Calculation of synthetic hormones injection dose and demonstration on Fish Seed Packing and Transportation. On the second day of the programme, a field tour programme was organized to Ornamental Fish Farm, Doomi for hands on experience of Ornamental Fish Hatchery. The valedictory function was presided over by Director Fisheries, R.N.Pandita. The capacity building of the trainees shall hone their skill towards the scientific method of fish farming thus enhancing the fish production from their pond. Later the Director Fisheries distributed the certificates among the trainee Fish Farmers. The Valedictory function was also attended by the senior officials of the department. |
