Saahil Suhail Early Times Report anantnag, May 31: Launching a scathing attack on the PDP, a BJP leader on Thursday alleged that some top PDP leaders were resorting to loot in the state. Addressing a gathering inside the premises of Dak Banglow Anantnag, Veer Saraf blamed National Conference and the PDP for the prevailing situation in the state and claimed that regional parties were blocking the efforts and initiatives being initiated for resolving the Kashmir problem. "Today Omar Abdullah says BJP is communal party. I want to tell him that previously he was with us and the same party which he says is a communal party made him junior Foreign Minister," Saraf, who is BJP's district general secretary said. He said the regional political parties of the state were "power hungry and have looted the state for long." "In 2014 Mehbooba Ji told you that her party will stop BJP from coming into power in the state, but what happened later she joined hands with us (BJP) for power and chair. They have lust for power and for power they can even eat 'filth'," Saraf, said. He made these remarks in presence of party's district president Rafiq Ahmad Wani. Referring to a recruitment scam, the BJP leader said that backdoor appointments in various departments are pushing qualified Kashmir youth to extremism. "Unqualified kith and kin of politicians are getting jobs through illegal means while qualified Kashmiri youth who have done PhD degrees are picking up guns," he said. He urged participants, who had to come receive free gas connections from Prime Minister's Ujwalla Scheme, to vote directly for the BJP in upcoming elections. BJP district president Anantnag Rafiq Ahmad Wani also addressed the function and later distributed free gas connections among the participants. |
