Early Times Report Jammu, May 31: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Ministry of External Affairs Government of India under its monthly Horizon Series presented a unique musical evening 'Mehfil-e-Mousiqi' featuring one of the most celebrated singer of the state of J&K Jitender Singh at K.L. Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre Complex Jammu. Welcoming the jam-packed audience at K.L Sehgal Hall, Regional Director ICCR J&K Balwant Thakur informed that with the showcasing of this unique 'Mehfil-e-Mousiqui' ICCR has completed 100 local, national and International programmes in Jammu. In a short span of Six years ICCR established new International professional standards and trends of cultural showcasing in Jammu. Introducing Jitendra Singh, Balwant Thakur said that this proud artist of Jammu brought laurels from world over for his unique style of singing versatility. First empanelled singer of ICCR from Jammu he has successfully held his concerts in England, USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Oman and Mauritius. Jitendraa Singh is a "Top Grade" ghazal artist of ALL INDIA RADIO since the year 2003 and has performed in almost all national occasions at All India Radio and Television. Jitendraa Singh is an established ghazal,bhajan and soofi singer of India and have performed worldwide. Jitendraa was born in the city of temples-Jammu. Nurtured in an educated and cultured Dogra Rajput family, Jitendraa was encouraged, unreservedly towards academic advancement as well as artistic excellence by his parents. He was accompanied by the most accomplished musicians of the state which included Sammy Masih (Tabla), Amarjeet Singh (Violin) and Jagmit Singh (Gitar).The programme was professionally anchored by Kusum Tickoo. |
