Modi wave (hollow myth) - got a rude shock
Jamwal Mahadeep Singh6/1/2018 10:46:33 PM
Before scripting on the subject, I like to draw the scrutiny of readers to my earlier articles titled "Politicians never confess - they have done something wrong" and "Modi charisma growing dimmer day-to-day" carried as editorial by local print media in December 2016 and February 2018 and one line of this article I reproduce that speaks of my vision stand qualified by the by poll results declared on 31st May 2018 of Lok Sabha and state assemblies: "a wonder lasts but nine days - means the effects of an amazing or stirring event last only nine days: after that, life goes on as before, a novelty that loses its appeal after a few days".
All time sonnets resonating expansion of BJP required being surveyed by walking side to side with the changing directions of the wind flowing abnormally not in favor of BJP. Although the BJP is in happy mood when it operate on its floppy disc (a magnetic storage) but it avoid playing on hard disc (Hard disks hold more data). The BJP thronged the nation (riding on shoulders of promises and commitments proved as lame ducks) with whooping majority of 282 Lok Sabha seats in 2014, but its graph in Lok Sabha seats that went to poll right from 2014 till date is declining day-to-day. In spite of the hard facts, BJP is advertizing frequently and doling out in the public domain about its continuous spree of winning state elections. The so hype is propagated while riding on the horses of pro-media net work. This is a myth, created by BJP belligerent minds and conserved as conscious by endless publicity. The actuality of post survey of BJP tells a different story. My observation is routed to the audit of seats vacated after party's massive victory in 2014 parliamentary elections. BJP just managed win in 5 of 27 Lok Sabha seats that went for by polls after Modi regime. The Lok Sabha seats that returned BJP candidates with empty bowls as big looser thereby smashing the hollow claims of BJP of its advancement after Modi came into power are; 1. Medak (Telangana) in September 2014. 2. Mainpuri in Mainpuri (UP) in September 2014. 3. Kandhmal (Odisha) in October 2014. 4. Warangal (Telangana) in Nov 2015. 5. Ratlam (MP) in Nov 2015. 6. Bangaon (WB) in 2015. 7. Coochbehar (WB) 2016. 8. Tamluka (WB) in 2016. 9. Tura (Meghalya) in 2016. 10. Amritsar (Pb) in 2017. 11. Srinagar (J&K) in 2017. 12. Mallapuram (Kerala) in 2017. 13. Gurdaspur (Pb) in 2017. 14. Ajmer (Rajasthan) in Feb. 2018. 15. Alwar (Rajasthan) in Feb. 2018. 16. Uluberia (WB) in Feb. 2018. 17. Phulpur (vacated by sitting Dy.CM of UP) in 2018. 18. Gorakhpur (vacated by sitting CM of UP) in 2018 and 19. Araria (Bihar) in March 2018. 20. Kairana (Uttar Pradesh) in May 2018. RLD snatched the seat earlier held by BJP 21. Bhandara - Gondiya (Maharashtra) in May 2018. NCP snatched seat earlier held by BJP. 22. Nagaland in May 2018. NDPP snatched seat earlier held by NPF.
One feels helpless to digest the expansion theory of BJP from state to state by virtue of winning state assembly elections one after the other. The BJP stalwarts never feel shy to speak such a big lie and keep their mission of befooling the people alive by wrong assertions. Their party spoke persons on national TV debates, never hesitate to present false bright depiction of distorted picture of BJP and likewise down stair hierarchy bring this trend of lying, down to illiterate, innocent, unaware and un-connected mass that become victim of myths created by this fraternity. Let us authenticate this part of story with reality test by considering of assembly elections held after BJP assumed power in Delhi Durbar in 2014. After BJP regime assumed power in the cente,r elections have been conducted in 22 states.
Out of 22 states BJP could muster its majority just in five states i.e. 1. Haryana, elections held in October 2014. BJP won 47 of 90 seats with 33.2 per cent vote share. Almost 67% voters voted against BJP. 2. Uttrakhand, elections held in Feb 2017 and BJP got 57 of 70 seats with vote share of 46.5 per cent and 54% voted against BJP. 3. Uttara Pradesh, elections held in March 2017 and BJP got 312 of 403 seats with just vote share of 39.7 per cent, whereas with vote share of 19% BSP got 22 seats and with vote share of 22% SP got 47 seats. Overall 60% voted against BJP. 4. Gujarat, in home state of Modi and Shah, acid test was observed in just concluded elections in Dec 2017. BJP just saved its face at 99 seats of 182, with vote share of 49.1%, losing 16 seats than previously held. 50.9 % voted against BJP. 5. Himachal Pradesh, elections held in 2017 and BJP captured 44 of 68 seats with vote share of 48.8%. Here BJP cannot be credited being rotational change ever decided by voters of HP, yet 51.2% voted against BJP.
Against BJP's claim of advancing performance, we can rely on those states that went to elections after Modi wave melodrama, where BJP at its own has to cut a sorry figure but its power lust architected alliance with regional parties, some of them had been branding BJP as communal party. 1. Maharashtra, elections held in October 2014. BJP got 122 seats of the 288 seats and failed to obtain magic figure to form the government at its own and did so with alliance with Shiv Sena securing 63 seats. (Now both are on different platter). 2. Jammu and Kashmir, elections held in Nov-Dec 2014 that gave 25 seats of 87 to BJP and it architected alliance with PDP that has contested elections against BJP (Public opinion speaks of total surrender of BJP to PDP, losing its originality). 3. Jharkhand, elections were held in Dec 2014. BJP got 37 of 82 seats and failed to obtain magic figure to form the government, hence joined hands with regional parties to form the government. 4. Bihar, elections were held in 2015. The RJD win 80, JDU 71, and BJP win 53 seats. The initial government was formed by alliance of RJD and JDU but subsequently JDU dumped RJD and architected alliance with BJP. 5. Assam, elections held in 2016, but BJP could win only 60 seats of 126, means less than 50 per cent. 6. Goa, elections were held in 2017. BJP win 13 and Congress 17 of 40 seats, what BJP in trickery architected alliance with regional parties and form the government. 7. Meghalya, elections held in Feb 2018 and BJP won just two and Congress 21 of the 60 seats. The regional party supported by BJP is in power there. 8. Arunachal Pradesh, the elections held in 2018 but witnessed turmoil, when in 60 member assembly, 43 MLAs winning on Congress tickets defected to BJP making in all 48 group of BJP. 9. Tripura, elections held in Feb 2018 and BJP got 23 of the 59 seats but formed government in alliance with Indigenous peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) having 7 seats.
The bad part of the story less known in public domain and that BJP keeps this token of information under carpet: is its performance below margin in assembly elections in various states that went to elections after much hyped Modi wave. 1. Delhi, elections held in 2015, BJP have just 3 of 70 assembly seats. A just born AAP gave crushing defeat to BJP ruling in Center. 2. Tamil Nadu, elections held in May 2016 and BJP was returned with zero in 235 assembly seats. 3. West Bengal, elections held in 2016 and BJP scored just 3 out of 294 assembly seats. 4. Kerala, elections held in May 2016 and BJP scored just one out of 140 assembly seats. 5. Punjab, elections held in 2017 and BJP scored 43 out of 117 assembly seats. 6. Manipur, elections held in 2017, BJP win just 21 of 60 assembly seats. 7. Nagaland., elections held in 2018, BJP win 12 of 60 assembly seats. 8. Karnataka, recently concluded elections in 2018, BJP captured 104 out of 222 seats.
The by polls in assembly seats in various states also speaks of the same doze of humiliation for BJP. Without moving much deep we can conclude on results of by poll assembly elections declared on 31st May 2018. Out of ten seats BJP could muster only one seat. 1. Noorpur (UP) SP snatched seat earlier held by BJP. 2. Shahkot (Punjab) Congress snatched seat earlier held by SAD (Ally of BJP). 3. Jokhihat (Bihar) RJD snatched seat earlier held by JD(U) (present ally of BJP). 4. Gomia (Jharkhand) JMM succeeded in retaining its seat. 5. Silli (Jharkhand) JMM succeeded in retaining its seat. 6. Chengannur (Kerala) CPI (M) succeeded in retaining its seat. 7. Palus Kadegaon (Maharashtra) Congress succeeded in retaining its seat. 8. Ampati (Meghalaya) Congress succeeded in retaining its seat. 9 Maheshtala (West Bengal) TMC succeeded in retaining its seat.
Concluding the saffron party, which got majority on its own in the Lok Sabha riding a "Modi wave", has got rude shocks thereafter. Here the words of Abraham Lincoln come to my mind: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time".
