SRINAGAR, June 1: One man one post rule no longer holds true with respect to Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) at least in the state as a 'blue-eyed' boy is enjoying his stint at four positions in the party.
The militant turned Ikhwani turned BJP leader is enjoying like anything since he is dictating terms to the other leaders as he has been given four important posts in the state. In the past this BJP leader had been in fact given the mandate to take decision about the persons to be invited for high profile visit of important personalities of the party to the state.
Sources told Early Times that the BJP leader is the General Secretary of the party for Srinagar district. He has been entrusted the responsibility of handling the financial affairs of the party and it is here where he is making merry since the accountability has gone for a huge six in the state.
"The BJP leader in question was a militant and later on he joined the ranks of Papa Kishtwari. He along with yet another person got a refuge while joining the ranks of BJP while militancy was at its peak in Kashmir valley. He is now reaping the benefits of his early inclusion in BJP more so at a place like Kashmir," said sources.
Sources said that besides being the General Secretary and in-charge finance this BJP leader has been given the responsibility of allotting rooms and other services to the party leaders, workers and activists. He also looks after the hospitality and protocol services of the party giving indication that the other people are 'incompetent' to look after these affairs.
"The more than due importance given to this leader has led to resentment among the other leaders of BJP. Since he is looking after the important affairs of the party there is nobody who would make him accountable for the activities being carried out by him in the name of party," said sources.
Sources said that this BJP leader was given the accommodation of a vice-chairperson of an autonomous body at Jawahar Nagar during the winter. Following the Durbar Move the leader along with his family was allotted accommodation at Peerbagh where the BJP has set up its office.
"This BJP leader has also a room allotted to him at the Dolphin hotel located on the Boulevard Road in Srinagar. He along with yet another BJP leader kept the deserving people out and invited the lesser known people during the recent visit of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to the state," said sources.
Sources said that the BJP leader who is basically a resident of Pampore shifted to Eidgah some time back. They said that he managed to pelt some stones on his house following which he sought protection in an uptown area. The same was heeded to and since then he is enjoying accommodation at more than one place, said sources.
