Early Times Report
Shopian, July 6: In Shopian, Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists kidnapped Jammu and Kashmir police constable Javaid Ahmad Dar alias Judge Dar, son of Abdul Hamid Dar, from his residence in Vehil village of Shopian on Thursday night and later killed him. This attack on the police personnel comes after the death of Army rifleman Aurangzeb.
Police today recovered the body of the Javaid who was kidnapped by militants from his home in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Constable Javaid Ahmad, posted as the personal security officer to Senior Superintendent of Police Shailendra Mishra, was kidnapped from his home at Vehil last night.
According to a police official, 27-year-old Javaid had gone to the medical shop to buy medicine for his mother, when four terrorists came in a Santro car, kidnapped him and drove away. Today morning his bullet-riddled body was found at Pariwan village in neighbouring Kulgam district.
Javaid was PSO of former SSP Shopian Shailendra Mishra, and was with him for six years, and it is suspected that it was because of Shopian encounter in which Kashmir University professor was killed with four other terrorists in an encounter in April.
"Javaid was part of the force who killed Kashmir University professor and other terrorists in an encounter in Shopian," he said.
The incident happened hours after Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the security situation in the Valley at a high-level meeting attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and top civil and police officials in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, top officials paid homage to martyr Constable Javaid Ahmad Dar and a wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines Shopian.
SSP Shopian Sandeep Choudhary led the Police officers and jawans in laying the floral tributes on the mortal remains of the martyr.
On June 14, militants abducted an army man, Aurangzeb from Kalampora village of Pulwama. His body was later recovered from Gusoo village of the district.
