JKHR appeals to maintain peace, unity | | | JAMMU, Aug 23: The State Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Human Rights Watch BL Kapoor appealed the people of the state to maintain peace and unity among them irrespective of caste, colour and creed so that the normalcy could be restored. In a statement issued here, he said that the people of the state are fed up due to increasing militancy in the state. Referring the continue violence and militancy activities the people of Kashmir and adjoining region like Ladakh have been suffering a lot and these activities not only upset the situation but blocked the ways leading to peace, progress and prosperity. Referring the view and statement of new governor of J&K state Satya Pal Malik, he said that the statement of Governor is highly appreciable because of realizing the worst situation and challenging job. However, the governor announced that he will try to win the confidence of the people. He said that the said situation not a new thing but it has been continuing since long and also reiterated that Dr. Farooq Abdullah when first time took over as Chief Minister of J&K. |
