Shopkeeper runs sub post office affairs in Behrot village

Poonch, Aug 23: Postal services in villages are on decline as sub post office in Behrot village of Thana Mandi area of Rajouri district is being run by a shopkeeper alongwith his Kiryana items sources said here today.
Nazir Ahmed rather a Kiryana Merchant in Behrot village runs the affairs of Sub post office Behrot along with kiryana shop as there was no body from the department to look into the issue, Nazir sells his commodities and also deliver people mail from the shop.
Locals alleged that more often we get damaged and torn off letters from Nazirs shop. The incharge post master or postman were never seen by us they further said. All the delivery system was defunct and no other facility including speed post office etc was available in sub post office Behrote.
Meanwhile Social activist Maqbool urged the district development commissioner Ajaz Asad to take serious note of the issue and make the postal staff accountable for proper delivery of the mail and other things including interference of shopkeeper for smooth running of sub post office of Behrot village.
