Jammu, Sept 4: The indefinite chain hunger strike of Teachers' Joint Action Committee (TJAC) at press club demanding implementation of 7th pay commission entered in its fifth day, here on Saturday. In this connection, a large number of teachers assembled here and had sit -in protest in support of their demands. The protest was led by senior leader of TJAC, Rajesh Jamwal. Addressing the gathering, Jamwal expressed concern over non seriousness of the government towards SSA teachers and masters for redressal of their demands. He appealed the Governor to personally intervene in this regard and issue orders to the concerned authorities for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA teachers and masters. Jamwal further said that if demands are not fulfilled by the authorities before September 5, "TJAC will celebrate this year's Teachers day as protest day." Meanwhile Subash chander, Vishal Kumar, Vishal Dev Singh, Subash Chander, Devinder Singh, Ajmer Singh, Harbajan Singh, Rakesh Singh, Vijay Singh, Jyoti Parkash, Surinder Singh, Anil Dogra and Rajesh Sharma were sitting on hunger strike. |
