Udhampur Jan 13: Suglhar -Barmeen PMGSY road near here is in dilapidated condition. There are many pits on the road and vehicles ply over it with great difficulty, even pedestrians find it difficult to walk on the road.
Nand Lal, a local of Suglhar informed that many times they visited the concerned authorities in this regard but all in vain.
He further said that the road is accident prone.
"It seems that the concerned authorities are waiting for some mishap to take place and then they may start the repair of the road," another local said
Rain water gathers on the road and when some vehicle pass over it splashes dirty water over the pedestrians thereby spoiling their cloth, maintained locals. If someone becomes ill in this area, then we cannot reach on district hospital timely for safe his life but authorities not repair the road. People of the affected villages have appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra to look into the matter immediately so that the locals in the said villages may heave a sigh of relief. It is pertinent to mention here that due to the ongoing rainy season.
The locals have threatened to block the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway if their demand of road repair is not immediately fulfilled by the concerned authorities.
