Make Jammu "BJP Mukt" to avenge betrayals with Dogras: Harsh
2/23/2019 9:41:16 PM
Early Times Report

RAMNAGAR, Feb 23: Despite sweeping the assembly polls in the Dogra heartland of Jammu region, the BJP had caused greatest embitterment in the hearts and minds of people of Jammu during its 3½ rule, said Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP chairman.
Not only were the hopes and aspirations of the people trampled upon ruthlessly by the BJP leaders after their ascendance to power, but the very self respect and pride of Dogras was bartered away for petty personal gains and lust of power, he lamented. Having failed to fulfill even a single promise made by them to their Jammu electorates in their vision document, the mandated BJP leaders worked as mere puppets of Mehbooba Mufti and promoted the Kashmir centric agenda in utter disregard for the sentiments of Dogras, said Singh.
He was addressing huge public meetings in Kathil Ganju, Sunetar and Beri villages of Ramnagar constituency today.
Flaying the BJP for bartering away its age old political philosophy for power sake, Mr. Singh said that in doing so it not only compromised with the remnants of its own dignity but with the honour and pride of its people as well. "Issue of Art 370 and 35A which formed the ideological DNA of BJP were pushed into the oblivion despite they being sold in elections with a big splash. The slogans on grant of PRCs to west Pak refuges and to children of daughters of J&K married outside the state also met the same fate. The policy of appeasement of separatists and anti-nationals was relentlessly pursued with release of around 11,000 stone-pelters together with a new scheme for rehabilitation of surrendered militants. The saffron rule witnessed registration of FIRs against brave-hearts and valiant jawans, disregard for martyrs and coverage of deceased stone-pelters under SRO-43.
While the BJP compromised over its avowed fundamentals, it did the greatest disservice to the people of Jammu region by surrendering their already negligible share in services and development projects, said Singh.
The saffron rule further saw the share of Jammu region falling to abysmally low levels in government jobs with Jammu youth getting merely 4 to 5 % in several select lists issued by PSC and SSB and the mandated BJP leaders acting as mute spectators. The Rasana episode is a grim reminder of the BJP's wicked politicking ad its most petrifying conduct while in power.
