| People along IB suffer due to false promises by BJP: Manohar Lal | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 23: Lambasting previous BJP government for totally neglecting the people residing along International Border, senior Congress leader and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today termed the announcement of 3% reservation to IB people by present government is just an eye wash. Dr Sharma said mere 3% reservation will not solve the problems of approximately 3 lakh people spread over 350 villages along International Border and said by this government doesn't want to solve the basic issue of the border people. He said if government is serious about people residing along IB then it should bring them under RBA category which will open door of 20 % reservation to said people and will cater for more job opportunities and further development of the people. He said due to regular ceasefire violation by Pakistan, lives of the people residing along IB is not smooth and easy and students are the worst sufferers. Dr Sharma was speaking while interacting with the public in Patyari Brahmana, Ladoli, Sallan and Hiranagar. During the interaction people of village Patyari Brahmana apprised Dr Manohar Lal Sharma of the problems faced by them. They said that the road to their village has not been repaired even once in last 4 -5 years and further complained of unhygienic drinking water due to old and outdated water pipe which flows through drain thus risking their lives. |
