Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 25: DC Udhampur, Rohit Khajuria has been transferred back to district Kathua within two days of his posting at Udhampur.
Sources reveal that the some politicians were not happy with the decision of anti-encroachment drive by DC Udhampur because their vote bank was under scare more so with the Assembly polls round the corner. These politicians approached a higher level party leader for the transfer of DC Udhampur following which Khajuria was transferred within two days
Social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp are hitting hard the Governor of J&K and said that he should not work on the gesture of party and they also asked the question why DC Udhampur was transferred within two days.
Public at large is calling it a shameful exercise as no politician has uttered a word as all need votes of business community and traders who have encroached the roads and lanes in Udhampur against which the DC has launched anti-encroachment drive.
Sham Lal--a retd army man said that the political party should not to stoop so low as in a recent anti-encroachment drive launched by the DC here, none but the elected Municipal Council President and other councillors had expressed resentment.
The MC President has issued order which stated that the DC should desist from such a drive without the permission of MC President. The public had condemned the MC order demoralizing the DC's action against encroachers.
A retired teacher said that MC should have itself removed encroachments but as they failed to do so they even can't digest the DC for doing that.
Some political thinkers said that MC President is brother of former MLA and the order to instruct the DC was only to help the former MLA to achieve good will of the encroachers as it will go a long way to help in coming assembly elections.
Overall the public was happy with the anti-encroachment drive by the DC and has condemned the bat bricking by the MC.
