Inter-state gang of motor vehicle lifters busted four arrested, 05 vehicles recovered

RAMBAN, Feb 27: Ramban Police today claimed to have achieved a major success when a gang of interstate motor vehicle lifter were arrested and a number of FIR,s were solved upon their arrest and 05 stolen vehicles were recovered from their possession.
Police spokesman said that acting on specific information, a special Naka was established at "T" Chowk Banihal.
"During checking and frisking of vehicles one showkit Ahmed of Kangan Ganderbal who was driving a red colour Tavera was stopped and was asked to produce the documents of the vehicle, but he failed to produce the documents of the vehicle," said police spokesman adding that on checking engine and chassis number, it was established that the vehicle was stolen from Chamalwas area of Banihal and FIR No.129/2018 under section 379 of RPC already been registered at Banihal police station.
He further said that during sustained questioning Showkit Ahmed of Ganderbal admitted that he had stolen the vehicle from Chamawas Banihal.
On further sustained questioning Showkit Ahmed Bhat disclosed the name of his associates as Zaheer Abass of Mahander Gurai Poonch and Mohd Ashraf of Khawas Rajori, said spokesman. Accordingly Zaheer Abass and Mohd Ashraf were also arrested and on their disclosure Vehicles including TATA Mobile Beloro registration number JK19-3797 Chassis No. ZH2GHKFIJ69694 Eng. No.CHFIJ50156 for which FIR No.103/2018 under section S 379 of RPC registered at Botate police station, Tavera registration number JK19-0847 Chassis No. MA61BCJ5BAH133166. Eng No. 31L134229 for which FIR NO. 129/2018 under section 379 of RPC registered at Banihal police station, Tavera Registration number JK02AS-7558 Chassis No. MA6ABCF5BAHI26680 Eng No. MTAN0074RTBA19438 for which FIR No.183/2018 under section 379 of RPC registered at police station Ramban, Sumo Chassis No. CAJFKL543MACOO2. Eng. 266701158815PN2DI for which FIR No. 43/2018 under section 379 of RPC registered at Banihal police station, Bike Pulsar Registration number K11A-2415 Chassis No. MD2A11CZ6FCL32821 Eng. No. BHZCFK08998 for which FIR No. 88/2018 under section 379 of RPC registered at Manjakote police station (Rajouri District).
All above mentioned vehicles were recovered on their disclosure with the arrest of the trio following cases/FIRs have been solved.
It is pertinent to mention that the said gang has also lifted vehicles from the jurisdiction of police station Rajori and with police station Poonch. Following FIR,s of different police stations stand solved.
The arrests were made by Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani-SHO Banihal under the Supervision of DySP Sajad Sarwar-SDPO Banihal and Sanjay Parihar-Addl SP Ramban and overall supervision of Anita Sharma-SSP Ramban.
