| Tarnah stone crushers violate SRO 302, authorities mum | | |

Kathua, Mar 5: Most of the stone crushers in Tarnah are without proper documents but seemingly enjoy the patronage of the Geology and Mining department Kathua.
As per the SRO 302, for running a stone crusher one must have Lease Hold License ( with or without tendering on private or government land), must have upto 20 hector land as query permit or should have Short Term Permit with few formalities after mentioning particular areas for lifting of mining materials.
Unfortunately except one M/S Nar Singh Stone Crushers, all are functioning without certificate under SRO 302. They are not following any norm or recommendation of SRO and enjoy the support of officials of Geology and Mining department.
DDC Kathua has taken strict action against some stone crushers of the district and sealed illegal crushers. But the ecology of Tarnah is endangered but it seems nobody's concern. DDC Kathua has been urged to take stern action against illegal crushers to save the environment. |
