BJP, Congress polarizing voters for political gains: Harsh
4/12/2019 11:38:29 PM
Early Times Report
ramban, Apr 12: Strongly rebuking the attempts being made by both BJP and Congress for polarizing the voters for political gains during the Lok Sabha elections, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister appealed the people of erstwhile Doda district to expose and oppose the nefarious designs of such divisive forces. We have an age old history of communal harmony and brotherhood which can't be allowed to be subverted by reckless politicians for promoting their narrow parochial political interests, said Singh. He was addressing a series of public meetings at Gandhri, Kabi, Tanger, Ramban city and Chanderkot segments of district Ramban in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency.
Condemning the recent terror attack at a health centre in Kishtwar which killed a renowned social worker and his PSO, Singh said it was a second gruesome attack in the past six months following the killing of Parihar brothers which rocked the entire Chenab belt in Jammu region. He cautioned both BJP and Congress to refrain from fishing in the troubled waters as the people would no more tolerate their attempts of creating communal polarization for vote bank politics. He added that apprehensions were rife among the people that the killing of the said worker during the elections was politically motivated to serve vested interests. Singh demanded high level probe into the killing which had disturbed the peace and tranquillity of Kishtwar and the adjacent districts.
Dismayed over snapping of internet services in the entire erstwhile Doda district, Harsh Dev Singh regretted that instead of restoring normalcy in the area, the arbitrary decision of the government had made the situation worse.
Taking a jibe at BJP and Congress, he said these parties continued to get peoples' mandate for the last around 70 years one after the other but failed on each occasion to live up to the expectations of their electorates with their dismal performance in the Parliament. The lack of development in the entire constituency and the remote areas in particular bore the testimony of the incompetency and inefficiency of their MPs.
He appealed the people and the youth in particular to carry forward the age old legacy of mutual accommodation and goodwill in the ultimateinterests of a stronger and powerful Jammu region.
