Howzat? IPL lad Rasikh 'fudged DoB'
Anantnag Cricket Association to approach BCCI

Early Times Report
anantnag, June 15: The Cricket Association Anantnag has decided to approach Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) claimed that a young cricketer Rasikh Salam has fudged his age.
If found guilty, Rasik Salam, who belongs to South Kashmir's Kulgam district, will have to face criminal action and could also be banned for two seasons.
Noted businessman and newly elected president of Anantnag Cricket Association, Farooq Amin told Early Times that they are going to approach the BCCI and will request them to reconsider its decision on humanitarian grounds.
"This young cricketer Rasikh Salam has done nothing wrong, as in rural areas of Kashmir, teachers mostly do things without informing the parents or students," Farooq said.
He said that they will formally file a request-petition before the board and request them to take a holistic view on the issue. "Banning this young cricketer for two seasons as is being told or initiating criminal action against him will not only ruin his career but will also ruin his sporting skills,"' he added.
According to reports, the BOSE has informed the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) that the cricketer has fudged his age. The board informed the JKCA that age provided by Rasikh to the association doesn't match with the record it possesses (as registered for Class X examination).
"It was learnt that Rasikh tampered with marksheet of one of his acquaintances and submitted it with the JKCA. The tampered marksheet shows him to be 17-year-old which probably is not the case. He actually is 19-year-old as per documents in possession with the State Board of Education," sources reported.
The SC-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) in its meeting held last had made it clear that any player fudging age could be banned for two seasons and criminal action may also be initiated.
Rasikh Salam Dar is the second cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. The pacer made his IPL debut for the eventual champions Mumbai Indians in their first match of the 12th edition.
Mentored by former India pacer Irfan Pathan, he was termed as the next big thing for the Indian cricket because of his ability to bowl fast despite being only 17.
Rasik and his family aren't speaking to media on the issue
