Ganai reviews arrangements for Haj pilgrims
7/25/2019 11:27:29 PM
POONCH, July 25: Former State Haj Committee member and Ex-MLC, Dr Shehnaz Ganai visited Haj House Srinagar and took stock of various arrangements made by State Haj Committee for the pilgrims. She expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and facilities provided by the State Haj and Auqaf Committee.
She also met Haj pilgrims, hailing from different areas of the State including Poonch. On enquiring about their travel from Poonch to Srinagar, she was told by pilgrims that Poonch District administration had not made any health or security related arrangement for pilgrims as not even a single vehicle of security escort or an ambulance was sent with Haj pilgrims from Poonch to Srinagar. A group of eight Haj pilgrims hailing from Poonch informed Ganai that their flight has been scheduled after a week, but they have been dispatched to Srinagar by Poonch administration for unknown reasons. Dr Ganai assured them that she will take up the issue with higher authorities of State Haj and Auqaf Committee to get it redressed for future. She urged them to pray for peace and tranquility of the State, country and people at every juncture of their pilgrimage.
