Old outfits like Al Badr being revived by Pak Army | | | Al Badr and Lashkar besides Jaimaitul Mujahideen have become active since August five when the sate was faced with the problem of revocation of Article 370 and 35-A and the police have blamed Lashkar-e-Toiba for the recent attack on fruit growers in north Kashmir's Sopore sub-district. The police said they had identified the local militants of the Lashkar who were involved in the attack on the fruit growers. "While the militants are at large, the eight over-ground workers of the group have been arrested," a police officer said. The police identified the two militants involved in the attack on fruit growers as Sajad Mir, alias Haidar, and Asif Maqbool Bhat. He said another member of the militant group Mudassir Pandith was involved in the attack on a migrant labour along with two other militants. "Sajad has been active from 2016 and heading the local Lashkar module that has been involved in series of attacks and issuing threats to the locals. The OGW who were arrested by security forces and were part of the group were identified as Aijaz Mir, Omar Mir, Tawseef Najar, Imitiyaz Najar, Omar Akbar, Faizan Latief, Danish Habib and Showkat Ahmad Mir." The OGWs had prepared threatening posters and circulated them in the locality. Sajad Mir and his associates were the main persons on whose behest incidents of violence were kicked up. And yesterday five militants belonging to Al Badr group were nabbed during Indian troops' bid to foil ingress bids. The incident was took place in Keran Sector in north Kashmir and Pakistan was helping groups of youth to join old militant outfits. And Al Badr was active during 1990-94 and after that the group; was lost in the tide of turbulence. And that has been the main factor behind Pakistani troops' repeated ceasefire violations and the basic purpose was to push groups of militants into the Kashmir valley. And Keran sector is kissing the LoC and it is easy for Pakistani troops to push groups of militants into Kashmir to push up violence which could pressurise some super powers to mediate on the Kashmir issue. However, hitherto, the US, Russia have rejected Pakistan's demand for a third party mediation on Kashmir. |
