JAMMU, Dec 1: The National Health Mission (NHM) today organized a voluntary blood donation Camp at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu to commemorate World AIDS Day being observed across the nation. Mission Director NHM, Bhupinder Kumar inaugurated the camp in which people from various quarters including employees from State Health Society, NHM and Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar donated blood.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Kumar said that blood donation is a core service within the health care system and individuals who donate blood provide a unique contribution to the health and survival of others.
Bhupinder Kumar said that one of our key strategies to enhance blood safety is to focus on motivating non-remunerated blood donors for voluntary donations and phasing out even replacement donors. He appreciated all the voluntary donors for their contribution towards the noble cause of blood donation. Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Dr Chander Prakash; CMO Jammu; Nodal Officer Blood services; Block Medical Officers and officers of NHM were present on the occasion. |
